Week 6 Fantasy Football Pickups (Maybe)

The NFL season is chugging along, and Week 6 is here to remind us that chaos reigns supreme in fantasy football. Between injuries, bye weeks, and those inexplicable decisions to start your benchwarmers, your roster is probably a bit of a mess. But don’t worry, I’m here to offer some help.

Will these Week 6 Fantasy Football #WaiverWire Pickups pan out?

Well, that’s anyone’s guess—it is fantasy football, after all.

Here are a few waiver wire grabs (all rostered in under 50% of ESPN leagues) that might save your season… or make you wonder why you trusted me.

Running Backs:

  1. Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars (RB) ~ 9.5% Rostered

So, Tank Bigsby finally showed up in Week 5. After Travis Etienne took another detour to the medical tent, Bigsby took the opportunity and ran with it—literally. He rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries, caught a pass for 28 more yards, and scored twice.

Even if Etienne returns next week, Bigsby might have muscled his way into more work. Will he keep it up? Who knows—but he’s worth a shot.

  1. Ty Chandler, Minnesota Vikings (RB) ~ 34.9% Rostered

Ty Chandler had his moment in the sun last week with Aaron Jones sidelined. He managed 16 touches, which sounds great until you realize he didn’t even hit 40 total yards. Still, with Jones’ status uncertain, Chandler’s volume alone makes him worth a gamble, even if the Vikings are on bye in Week 6.

Just don’t expect a hero’s performance… unless you really, really like taking chances.

  1. Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants (RB) ~ 18.4% Rostered

When Devin Singletary sat out in Week 5, rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. took full advantage and ran wild, putting up 129 yards on 18 carries.

Singletary’s injury doesn’t seem long-term, but Tracy may have earned a bigger role in the Giants’ chaotic backfield. Then again, this is the Giants we’re talking about—anything can happen, including absolutely nothing.

  1. Jaylen Wright, Miami Dolphins (RB) ~ 8.0% Rostered

The Dolphins’ backfield is like a game of musical chairs. This week, it was Jaylen Wright’s turn to step up when De’Von Achane went down with a concussion. Wright made the most of it with 86 yards on 13 carries.

The Dolphins are on bye in Week 6, so if you like the thrill of uncertainty and benching players on their off weeks, Wright’s your guy. If Achane stays sidelined, Wright could be worth the stash.

Wide Receivers:

  1. Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys (WR) ~ 7.6% Rostered

Jalen Tolbert is doing his best to make the most of Brandin Cooks’ absence. In Week 5, Tolbert came through with a game-winning touchdown catch against the Steelers. Will Cooks come back and steal the spotlight? Probably. But until then, Tolbert has carved out a nice little niche in the Cowboys’ offense.

Add him if you’re feeling optimistic—and if you don’t mind a potential rollercoaster.

  1. Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts (WR) ~ 34.9% Rostered

Josh Downs has quietly put together a couple of strong weeks, becoming a reliable target in the Colts’ offense. In Week 5, he caught 9 passes on 12 targets for 69 yards, proving that he’s capable of being a steady PPR option.

Downs is battling for the WR2 spot on the Colts, so if you’re looking for volume, he might be your guy… or he might vanish into thin air. Welcome to fantasy football.

  1. Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders (WR) ~ 17.2% Rostered

As rumors swirl about Davante Adams’ potential exit, Tre Tucker’s stock is on the rise. He’s been on the field for over 80% of snaps for the last three games, which sounds promising.

But let’s be honest, the Raiders’ quarterback situation is… well, it exists. Tucker’s a high-upside stash if you believe in miracles or at least in consistent snap counts.

  1. Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts (WR) ~ 14.8% Rostered

Alec Pierce is your quintessential boom-or-bust player. He’s hit the end zone in three out of five games this season, but his role is purely as a deep threat.

If you like living dangerously (and don’t mind occasional heartbreak), Pierce is the upside flier you might want to grab off waivers. Just don’t come crying to me when he puts up zeroes.

Quarterbacks:

  1. Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons (QB) ~ 45.1% Rostered

Who saw this coming? Kirk Cousins in an Atlanta Falcons jersey, torching the Bucs for over 500 yards in Week 5. I don’t know how he got there either, but here we are now.

With juicy matchups against the Panthers, Seahawks, and Bucs coming up, Cousins is a solid streaming option if you’re in need of a QB. But let’s be real—he’s Kirk Cousins, so prepare for anything, including wild inconsistency.

Conclusion:

Week 6 is your chance to either fix the sinking ship that is your fantasy team or sink it even further. Waivers are a fickle game, and these players could help you survive—or just drive you mad.

Either way, you’ve got to act fast because someone in your league is definitely adding them as we speak.

Happy waiver hunting, and remember: anything can happen. Seriously, anything!
