The thing I like about sports bets is…
I keep getting older, and they — well, they don’t really have an age in the first place. I mean there’s an age requirement for you to gamble (of course), but the wagers don’t really apply to that.
Regardless, it’s the start of the NFL season again.
I’M BACK BABY!!!
Never Bet the Farm3 has finally returned to the interwebs!
We all know I’m what you’re really itching for…
Heck, I missed myself too.
And just like Momma would always say in between sips,
“time to get back on that wagon, son.”
Now that’s about right.
Mr. Yours Truly, Mr. SportsKnowItAll, is starting off this inaugural 3rd season with a sure-shot 6-game parlay between college football and the NFL.
‘Never Bet the Farm3’ Week 1:
Ohio +28.0 @ Penn State
UTSA -2.5 @ Army
CIN Bengals -6.0 vs PIT Steelers
NE Patriots +3.5 @ MIA Dolphins
IND Colts -7.0 @ HOU Texans
DEN Broncos -6.5 @ SEA Seahawks
Insights:
Admittedly, I’m a MAC supporter and Ohio U apologist, so keep that in mind. 28-points seems like a lot to cover against a Bobcats team that should be able to score. They play offense in the MAC. No D tho! Will OU win? I’m not betting on that; I’m betting they cover the spread here.
UTSA is the surest bet in sports. If you know, then you know.
The Steelers are in a rebuilding year, which means they’ll be slightly better than .500 and just barely make or miss the playoffs (that’s a Steelers rebuild — that fan base has no idea what true misery is). Pittsburgh will be great as soon as they find another quarterback, but that will not be this year, and especially not this week. Look for the mighty Burrows to win and cover rather easily.
Bill Belichick against first-year, new head coach Mike McDaniels. Need I say more? Why do the oddsmakers have them as a dog? I don’t care how fast Tyreek is in the Florida heat. This is a trap game for the optimistic Dolphins. Go with the Patriots and the points.
The Colts had the best draft of any team not named the Jets. And better yet, the Colts didn’t stink last year like the Jets. Houston is Houston, so look for the Colts to cover by more than a touchdown.
Russell Wilson returns to Seattle like he never left, except he’ll be on the opposite sideline. Wow! The NFL definitely wet their whistle scheduling this out. It’s going to be high drama, and look for the mile-high team to travel well with their new QB. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ran up the score a little.
The Barstool Sportsbook App and its nifty bet builder here show how $10 down should bring back a pretty $470.33 in total. Badda-bing, Badda-boom.
EASY MONEY
Time to start things off right this year.
Just remember all you wannabes…
Don’t bet any more than you’re willing to lose, and never bet the farm3.
