Never Bet the Farm2 [W7] – Professional

October 24, 2021

Pushing up against the deadline on this one like all the great professional writers before me.

Hunter Thompson… Charles Dickens… Victor Hugo… Truman Capote…

The list goes on but these famous authors were known for turning things in with no time to spare.

Whether it was procrastination in this case, or being dragged to an all-day wedding that I didn’t want to attend, I’m going to be channelling all of the impressive last-minute authors before me.

Without any further ado, and with no time to spare, let’s get into it!

Mr. Yours Truly, Mr. SportsKnowItAll, is going with a professional-quality 5-game parlay ticket.

Here’s my NFL ‘never bet the farm2’ action for Week 7:

SF 49ers -4.5 vs IND Colts
NO Saints -4.5 @ SEA Seahawks
ATL Falcons -2 @ MIA Dolphins
UNDER 57.5 Total Points for KC Chiefs @ TEN Titans
OVER 50.5 Total Points for DET Lions @ LA Rams

Insights:

San Fransico is getting healthier by the day and should present a much better team overall than Indianapolis.

Look for the 49ers to cover in the House that Peyton Built.

The beaten-down Seahawks are struggling to start a full squad (or at least a team that resembles the one from the beginning of this season). Luckily for Seattle, the Saints are still trying to figure out life without Drew Brees.

Look for the crowd to keep things close for much of the game, but the Saints should cover by a touchdown+.

After losing to the Jaguars in London, the Dolphins need to get back to the basics in Miami. Although Atlanta at home might appear easy on paper, the Falcons are better than people give them credit. They compete and can put up points in bunches when things are working.

Look for the Falcons to surprise the Dolphins and win!

In years or weeks past, it seems like a sure-shot to pick Kansas City and the over. That’s not the case anymore. In this particular matchup, I think the Titans will try to control the clock with Derrick Henry and the rushing attack.

As a result, this game might not be as high-scoring as expected. Pick the under.

If you couldn’t tell by now, I enjoy betting on games with history and bad blood. Therefore, I’m going with the over in the Goff vs Stafford rivalry game.

Or should I call it Goff vs McVay?

Or what about Lions Front Office vs Stafford?

No matter what I call it, it’ll be much more high-scoring than expected. People have things to prove to themselves, and look for the 50.5-point over to come easily.

My nifty bet builder shows this simple $10 investment should bring me back a quality $240.21. Badda-bing, Badda-boom.

EASY MONEY!

With that being said, and with very little time left to spare, I’ll be clicking the post button here shortly.

Thanks again to all the procrastinating professionals before me.

You are my inspiration.

Now, everyone needs to run and get their bets down immediately!

No time to spare.

Just remember all you wannabes…

Don’t bet any more than you’re willing to lose, and never bet the farm2.
