Week 4 Fantasy Football
Which running backs should be sitting on your bench and who should find a spot in your lineup for Week 4?
Play
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Kansas City)
Despite losing two fumbles against the Chargers last week, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is a solid overall fantasy contributor. He’s had at least 17 touches in each of the last two games and has 189 yards rushing, 38 yards receiving, and one touchdown this season.
While that may not sound like much, keep in mind he’ll be facing an Eagles defense that had no answers for the Dallas running backs in Week 3. Edward-Helaire may not quite fit into your top two running back slots, depending on the roster, but he should at least be inserted into most flex positions.
Zack Moss (Buffalo)
An inactive on Week 1, Zack Moss has been a surprise fantasy contributor for the Bills. He’s averaged 4.1 yards on 21 carries and scored three touchdowns combined on 26 touches over the past two games. The matchup against the Texans is very favorable for the Bills backfield.
Houston has allowed the eighth-most rushing yards per game this season with a total of six touchdowns. With the odds likely pointing to the Bills running away with this, Zack Moss should have ample opportunities to run the ball.
Sit
Ronald Jones II (Tampa Bay)
After rushing for nearly 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns last season, Ronald Jones II has seen much less workload carrying the ball over the first three games. In fact, he’s rushed for only 52 yards on 15 carries and has only a single reception for three yards. Giovani Bernard has gotten a considerable chunk of time out of the backfield as a receiver, but his status is in question after an MCL sprain. Even if Bernard can’t go, Leonard Fournette has been getting the bulk of the work, rushing for 92 yards and 12 catches out of the backfield. If you pick any backs from the Buccaneers, go with Fournette and avoid Jones.
Ty’Son Williams (Baltimore)
With J.K. Dobbins on IR since the start of the season, Ty’Son Williams has had an opportunity to step into a bigger role. He’s done a great job in limited touches, averaging 6.1 yards on 27 carries and also 45 yards receiving.
However, Williams only had 22 yards on five carries last week. The Ravens are facing a tough Broncos run defense that has allowed only 59 yards per game and one touchdown. Williams will have his moments, but it likely won’t be this week against the Broncos.
