Never Bet the Farm [w10]

November 14, 2020

Good thing I didn’t bet the farm because I was robbed again.

Twice actually.

Obviously, things went wacky on me with last week’s action.

And if that wasn’t questionable enough, the screw job is back-on with college covid cases (see I can still alliterate drunk).

Fifteen college football games have been either canceled or postponed this week. And you know I had several winners picked out of those games, but thankfully, I learned from my mistake before.

See, covid and I have a betting history.

I had action on those very first college basketball games that got cancelled back in March. It was so infuriating.

Those were all clearly winners, but I didn’t get to cash.

(despite spending a winning’s amount the night before)

You live.

You learn.

You mask up and adjust.

Hence that’s why I’ve decided to hold off on placing action this week — until now — and why I’m on only one college football game.

But Mr. Yours Truly, Mr. SportsKnowItAll, is due for one this week. I’m going with a sure-shot, 5-game parlay between college and pro football.

So, here’s my ‘never bet the farm’ action for Week 10:

Notre Dame -11.5 @ Boston College
Green Bay Packers -13.5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Tampa Bay -6 @ Carolina Panthers
Arizona Cardinals -2.5 vs. Buffalo Bills
Baltimore Ravens -7 @ New England Patriots

My nifty bet builder tells me my $10 will turn in $242.82 shortly.

Badda-bing, badda-boom!

Easy money!

Assuming this isn’t all canceled in the morning.

Hated turning in that cancelled ticket for my cash back during March.

It’s awful to tie at anything (even sports gambling). It’s just like kissing your sister — like they say — you know? I would rather win or lose.

None of this ‘push’ crap.

I’m a freakin’ American capitalist afterall.

I believe in winners and losers.

And that’s why you need to remember all you wannabes… Don’t bet any more than you’re willing to lose, and never bet the farm.
