Anyone want a NFL-UFC hybrid?
We all remember wrestling and football could NOT be mixed.
(I mean… If Mr. McMahon couldn’t make it work, it’s impossible, right?)
However, could a NFL-UFC sport succeed?
We pretty much got a preview this weekend.
As reported on TotalProSports, former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy started off the NFL-UFC Fight Weekend with his first amateur MMA contest. After surviving a tough start, Hardy defeated his opponent Joe Hawkins at the Rise of a Warrior event in Fort Pierce, Florida.

I imagine most people wanted Hardy to be destroyed, but he really looked comfortable at the end of the match (not bad for his first fight against someone other than his girlfriend).
Must have inspired NFL players to practice outside the octagon.
Three NFL games had fist fights and five people were ejected during Sunday’s contests.
Bengals receiver AJ Green and Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey practiced some grappling. Both players were ejected from the game.

Green looks solid at it. I like his form as well as Georges St-Pierre this weekend. Ramsey could use some practice.
While in Louisiana, Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans decided to work on his striking. He was NOT ejected from the game.

That wasn’t the end of the fun…
The third match of the day started because 49ers quarterback CJ Beathard took a late hit.

What’s the fallout? How will the NFL handle this? Who will be suspended and for how long?
None of that concerns me! I have a far more important question for you…
Who had the best punch?Â
AJ Green, Mike Evans, or Greg Hardy?
Regardless, I think this will help NFL TV ratings 🙂
